Let me tell y'all it's worth it. My daughter doesn't even like BBQ like that and she loved it to the point we are going back today. It was very good and the amount of food was worth the price. I would definitely recommend you to try it.
Phabulous & Gr-8. So, who cares if they can't spell. When your Texas Style BBQ is this good, spelling doesn't matter. The ribs literally fall off the bone, and the brisket is so tender you can cut it with a plastic fork, spoon, or spork. There isn't a dining room. It's more of a take out joint, but you can enjoy your order at one of their picnic tables. So, next time you want a little radiation (Cedar Hill is Radio Tower Central), try Phat Girlz. It's abundantly awesome.
Ohhhh my goodness...the food is absolutely delicious! I had the brisket sandwich with 2 sides (potato salad & green beans). I usually do not order anyone’s potato salad; however, this place made me smile and humming sounds while I was eating. Now that’s good eating for me!!! A must try! Unfortunately, I ate my food up and forgot to take a picture.
I visited Phat Girlz today for the first time. I had been hearing good things about it but never had the chance to visit until today. I ordered the 2 meat plate with rib tips, chopped brisket, baked beans, and potato salad. I was a little disappointed at first with seeing the baked beans bc I thought they were the traditional baked beans I'm used to. The taste threw all my disappointment out of the door. Everything was tasty. I loved the potato salad. It tastes better than what my mom makes. For me to say that, it has to be damn good bc my mom makes the best potato salad. I was so impressed with the food that I'm going back tomorrow!
Kindness AND Good Food? That's an amazing combo! I've had the chicken salad which is unlike any I've ever had. I paired it with club crackers. My husband and I cleared that bucket in 24 hours! I also tried the chicken and shrimp alfredo baked potato. It looked and smelled delicious. When I tasted it, I immediately tasted the spices. It wasn't overwhelming but it was unexpected. This potato is huge so you can eat it in 2 settings. I added shredded cheese to mine (maybe a little greedy) and for me that made it perfect. I recommend this place for anyone who loves barbeque. It's Cedar Hill's tiny little secret and I'm glad I overheard people taking about it, lol.
Are there more than 5 stars? Because the way Phat Girlz showed up to save my Memorial gathering and feed 70 people AMAZING food deserves way more stars. Big party planned and I decided on Thursday that I wasn't cooking. A call and email exchange later and Mimi and Lay-Loh agreed to cater my party on their day off on Sunday for the party that day. The food was not only delicious (ya'll, that brisket tho), it was done on time, neatly packaged and boxed, exactly what I ordered, rib tips thrown in by surprise which made me even happier and a low stress Memorial Day celebration was had by all. We fed all those people and had some leftovers, the chicken was smoked to perfection, ribs tender, brisket so moist and overall, so grateful they made it all possible. Walk, don't run to PHAT GIRLZ. Whether it's a meat plate or a full spread, they'll have you covered, full, satisfied AND all done with a smile and professionalism that's the cherry on top.

Phat Girlz BBQ is hands down the best barbecue I’ve had to date. I ordered the two-meat plate with chopped brisket and sausage links, paired with mac & cheese and potato salad. We also grabbed the Big Girl Sandwich and a cookie pudding for dessert. Every single bite was absolute perfection. The brisket was tender and flavorful, the sausage had just the right amount of kick, and that potato salad and mac-n-cheese instantly took me back to my grandmother’s kitchen. Creamy, seasoned to perfection. It tasted like it was made with love and tradition. The cookie pudding was just as incredible. The food was so amazing, I picked up the phone and called the owner on the spot. I had to give her her flowers because this experience truly blew my mind. You know how you’re always searching for that perfect BBQ spot? Well, this is it. I didn’t catch the owner’s name, but I want her, her daughter, and her family to know they are a blessing to the community. I’m praying for their business to grow and flourish. The love they put into their food is felt in every bite, and they’ve definitely gained a forever customer in me. If you’re anywhere near Phat Girlz BBQ....do yourself a favor RUN, DON’T WALK!
